WELCOME TO SYNOD ISAF BARN
Nestled on our 100-acre family farm in the heart of rural West Wales, Synod Isaf Barn is a beautifully restored barn conversion designed for relaxation and comfort. Just 10 minutes from the pretty harbour town of New Quay and the golden beaches of Cardigan Bay, our holiday cottage is the perfect base for families, walkers, and anyone looking to escape the everyday.
Set above a peaceful wooded valley, the barn enjoys sweeping views of surrounding farmland. You may spot red kites drifting overhead, hear the quiet rhythm of farming life, and enjoy the sense of space and calm that comes with a countryside setting.
After a day of seaside adventures or exploring the coast path, unwind in your private hot tub, share an alfresco supper on the patio, or curl up in front of the wood-burning stove.
WHY STAY WITH US
Coastal adventures on your doorstep – enjoy the best of both worlds: the peaceful surroundings of a working Welsh farm and the vibrant coastal experiences of West Wales just minutes away. Venture to New Quay to discover golden sandy beaches, sheltered harbours, and clear waters where dolphin spotting boat trips are a highlight for visitors to Cardigan Bay.
Wildlife all around – from seabirds and seals along the coast to red kites and buzzards soaring above the farmland, nature thrives here. The surrounding countryside is rich with wildlife, offering something to see in every season.
Food and drink to savour – local towns and villages are full of independent pubs, cafés, and artisan producers offering everything from handcrafted cheeses and Welsh honey to locally distilled gins and freshly caught seafood. A true taste of Ceredigion awaits.
Something for all ages – whether you’re planning family-friendly beach days, cultural breaks in Aberystwyth and Cardigan, or walking holidays along the stunning Ceredigion Coast Path, there’s always something to enjoy. Local attractions such as the New Quay Honey Farm and nearby adventure parks provide fun for younger visitors too.
Fully accessible – the barn has been thoughtfully designed for comfort and inclusion, with level access, an open-plan layout, and a ground-floor king-size bedroom with an en-suite wet room, making it ideal for guests with restricted mobility.
A rich sense of place – New Quay is steeped in culture and literary history. Dylan Thomas lived here during the 1940s, and the town inspired much of his famous work Under Milk Wood. Follow the Dylan Thomas Trail or visit his favourite haunts to experience the spirit of this creative coastal community.
Gateway to Wales – perfectly positioned between North and South, the barn is an ideal base to explore further afield. Whether you’re visiting nearby coastal towns, venturing into the Cambrian Mountains, or simply relaxing with views across rolling farmland, Synod Isaf Barn is the perfect place to return to at the end of each day.
